The bulk excavation side of the job leaves a specific depth for the sub-base that will provide the perfect foundation for the material used.

The Sub-Base
Think of sub-bases as the foundations of patios. Aggregates and sand are laid into the excavated area alongside edges and restraints that match the chosen material. A layered sub-base installation will give a patio a stable surface and permeable aggregates help in dispersing surface water into the installed drainage channel or the soakaway.
All sub-bases are then compacted prior to installation.
Installation
Based on the materials chosen for patios, we lay the top surface as a series of pavers complete with mortar pointing or as a continuous installation if you have selected a poured material like concrete. This phase of the installation requires additional care because the top surface will be the element that guides the job’s aesthetics.
All pavers are pointed to keep surfaces watertight and we can apply a protective sealant to help keep installations in good condition.
